Some kids measure a school in utilization percentages. Ours measure it in which teacher already knows the Band-Aid flavor, which hallway has the water fountain that doesn’t taste like pipes, and which adult will actually notice if your kid had a rough morning.

This shirt is for the families who live here, the staff who stayed, and the kids who don’t need a slide deck to tell them they belong. Birch is not an empty seat problem. It is a neighborhood school with an ICAN team that already knows its students, teachers who have been the consistent adults, and a community that paid for a building the district is now pricing out like leftover furniture.

Wear it to the board meeting. Wear it in the pickup line. Wear it at the grocery store when someone asks “which school?” and you don’t have three minutes to explain bond phases. Wear it because “we’ll figure out the empty building later” is not a plan. It is a shrug in a nice font.

Soft. Sturdy. Slightly more reliable than a five-year enrollment forecast, and it doesn’t require a work session to decide what it is.
